Lineage III – kontynuacja gry Lineage II pod nazwą Lineage Eternal tworzona przez NCsoft. Projekt Lineage III rozpoczął się 1 stycznia 2008 i został ogłoszony do publicznej wiadomości w 2011. Pierwszy pokaz z gry zadebiutował na targach G-Star.
Dnia 27 kwietnia 2007, policja w Seulu poinformowała o siedmiu byłych pracownikach NCsoft podejrzewanych o sprzedaż kodu gry Lineage III do dużej japońskiej firmy. Według NCsoft szkody poniesione przez kradzież kodu mogły przekroczyć 1 miliard dolarów
W grze miał być użyty silnik Unreal Engine, jednak NCsoft zaimplementuje zupełnie nowy silnik.
